Red Hat FAQ

How do I schedule an exam?
The process for you as a Red Hat candidate is to schedule an individual exam session (IES) with PSI consists of two parts. First you must enroll and pay on Red Hat’s website at: http://www.redhat.com/training/certifications/exam-kiosk/

Upon the confirmation of enrollment and payment you must then wait for Red Hat to process your order. Once processing is completed (1 to 3 business days) you will receive an e-mail from Red Hat with instructions to schedule with PSI.

You can then go to the PSI registration site, www.examslocal.com and register for the test. As a first time user you will need to create an account in order to redeem your exam eligibility. However, if you have tested with PSI in the past, you will have the ability to log in with your previously created username and password.
If you have tested with PSI or Innovative Exams and have used an email address from one of the following domains, please contact certification-team@redhat.com:

  • Linux Foundation
  • Accenture
  • ISACA
  • MapR
  • Yardstick

To schedule your exam you will have the ability to search for your exam by it’s name, exam code, or sponsor name (i.e. Red Hat). You will then be prompted to enter your preferred testing location and preferred date and time to test. You will also be prompted for your Red Hat Certification ID (if you have been issued one) and must agree to the PSI testing agreement. Please note that exams require a 24-hour lead time to allow for preparation of the virtual machine for your selected exam; the earliest date you will be able to select for your exam reservation is the next business day.

How can I preview exam locations and availability?
To find a location to take your Red Hat exam please visit: http://www.redhat.com/en/services/certification/individual-exam-sessions, or the PSI registration link, www.examslocal.com, select the exam, enter a preferred date and time and preview availability. Please note the system will let you know if you are not eligible for the exam but you can still preview availability by clicking the next button a second time.

What can I do if www.examslocal.com is saying I am not eligible for the exam?
Once you complete the exam purchase you should receive an Order Confirmation e-mail.
Please verify that you have purchased the exam with Red Hat and have allowed up to 3 days for the exam eligibility to be processed. If so, then please check My Account > View Credits and Eligibilities on www.examslocal.com
If you still are not eligible for the exam and you have received your e-mails from Red Hat then please email Red Hat directly at certification-team@redhat.com, and please be sure to provide your order number.
Once eligibility is officially received then you may move forward in scheduling the exam. Once scheduled, you will receive a confirm e-mail with exam reservation details.
